Who I am

Tyler's Tech Support is a sole trader business run by Tyler Blake, based in Loughborough. For UK data protection law, I am the "controller" of the personal information described here. You can reach me at [email protected] or on 07871 215087.

What information I collect

  • When you send a message through this website: your name, email address, message, and (if you choose to give them) your phone number and village or town, plus the type of help and how soon you need it.
  • When you contact me by phone, WhatsApp, email or Facebook: whatever you choose to tell me, and your contact details.
  • When I do work for you: your address (so I can visit), details of your devices and what's wrong with them, and records of the work and invoices.
  • When you pay: card payments are taken by Stripe. I receive confirmation of the payment and your name and email, but never your full card details.
  • Technical information: when you visit this website, my website provider (see below) processes your IP address and basic request details in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Who I share it with

I don't sell your information. I only share it with the services that help me run the business:

  • Stripe, to take card payments.
  • Cloudflare, which delivers this website, protects it from abuse and provides a bot check on the contact form.
  • My email provider (TODO: name it), which delivers and stores messages sent to and from me.

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on approved safeguards for international transfers.

Messages sent through the website form are stored on my own server in the UK.

Cookies and tracking

This website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies, and I don't run analytics that follow you around. If you use the light/dark switch, your choice is saved in your browser only, and never sent to me. It's strictly a preference and doesn't identify you.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 12 months, then deleted. (TODO: confirm this is what you want.)
  • Customer and invoice records: for 6 years, as needed for tax and accounting.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

  • tell you what information I hold about you, and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that's wrong;
  • delete your information (unless I have to keep it by law);
  • limit how I use it, or object to me using it;
  • give you your information in a portable format.

To do any of this, email [email protected]. I'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I use your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
